Project Description

Located on The Portman Estate, 4 Duke Street is a Grade II listed office building with residential accommodation on the third floor; an English Heritage Blue Plaque on the front elevation commemorates the famous Latin American liberator Simón Bolívar’s link with the site dating from 1810. The project comprised a CAT ‘A’ refurbishment of a five-storey Grade II listed building, with conversion of the lower floors from medical to high-quality office use. Following vacant possession by the previous tenant, the works involved comprehensive internal and external refurbishment  sympathetic to the age and character of the building, the scope included layout alterations, installation of new kitchens and tea points, replacement of all WC and bathroom facilities, installation of shower and locker facilities and replacement of floor coverings.  including localised brickwork and plaster restoration, bringing the building up to modern standards.
