Part I Architectural Assistant

Garnett Architecture are looking for a talented Part I Assistant architect to join  our versatile team. We require applicants who are passionate about architecture and the built environment, inventive, ambitious and have excellent design and visualisation skills. Candidates must be able to demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp. Working knowledge of Graphisoft Archicad would be an advantage.

Architect 2 Years Post RIBA Part II 21.07.2022

Garnett Architecture is seeking a recently qualified architect to join its team in London.

Garnett Architecture is an award-winning multi-skilled architectural practice founded in the early 90s and based in Southwark, a short walk from Bankside and the Tate Modern. The practice works predominantly in the office, residential and retail sectors and provides a wide range of services including architecture, interior design and planning applications.

We work on both new build and refurbishment projects, frequently in heritage environments, and our clients include leading developers, property investors and ‘great estates’.

Due to an expanding work load the practice is offering a superb opportunity for a highly motivated and talented architect to become an integral part of our versatile team.

Our ideal candidate will be a good all-rounder, RIBA Part 3 qualified, with at least two years’ UK experience post RIBA Part 2, sound construction, building regulations and contract administration knowledge as well as being comfortable liaising with clients and project teams.

Your responsibilities:

  • generating creative design at all stages of projects
  • setting project deadlines and coordinating the design towards these
  • engaging with clients, consultants and contractor teams
  • preparing technical design and specification information for construction
  • integrating sustainable design and ethos into existing and new projects
  • collaborating on design discussions on all office projects
  • delivering the highest quality of drawn and written output at all times

Your skills and experience:

  • two years’ experience in UK post-Part 2
  • design-focused with passion for detailing and materiality
  • strong technical grounding with experience working to building codes, practice standards and industry expectations
  • experience liaising with contractors and the contract administration processes
  • be familiar with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite; proficiency in Graphisoft ArchiCAD an advantage
  • excellent presentation skills, both verbally, written and drawing.
